martial law first happens on September 21, 1972 during the Marcos regime. the declaration of martial law had a theatrical smoke-and-mirrors quality, under the president's command, the military arrested oppostion figures, students and labor activists and een journalists. martial law is a system of rules that take effect if the military takes control of the normal administration of justice. it is sometimes imposed in response to civic or episodes of unrest rots.
