“They are not communist rebels but physician and health workers.”
We can hear these words from the supporters and love-ones of the 43 people who were allegedly arrested by the militants while undergoing health-skills training in Morong, Rizal. The arrested people are members of Health Alliance for Democracy and were in town to conduct medical training.
The arrested were having their health training in the said town when the troops raided the house, blindfolded them and forcibly took them to the headquarters. On the strength of a warrant arrest, the troops searched the area and seized many homemade explosive device, some hand grenades, cellular phones and campaign materials of a party list group.
Having detained, the supporters of the arrested health workers are seeking justice for them because they are not member of NPA nor rebels but workers who helped people with badly needs. They want the arrested people be released and reinvestigate the said case.
